The Phileas Fogg Theatre Company

Welcome to the Phileas Fogg Theatre Company Website.

The Phileas Fogg Theatre Company was started over 10 years ago. Since its inception the Phileas Fogg Theatre Company has been an integral part of the Dutch education system. The company has also made a well earned name for itself within the bilingual education system.

We specialise in TIE (theatre in education) with specific emphasis on English as a foreign language.

All workshops and shows are fully interactive. Every single student works with us. Nobody just sits down and watches the show. The students are the show.

All workshops and shows help the pupils become confident with using spoken English. As the show progresses so does the pupils use of English.

All workshops and shows are great fun. The students learn and become more confident whilst having an entertaining time.

Our programme can be split into two distinct areas, day workshops and evening shows.

Daytime Workshops
There are workshops for every level of English. Little Victorians caters for the youngest. Drama Workshops, In Love with Shakespeare and Shakespeare by Night are for the intermediate levels and 1st World War Poetry and the School Leavers Workshop have been designed for older and advanced students. There really is something for everyone!

Evening Shows.
These are shows put on in front of an invited audience, usually the pupils’ parents, friends and relatives. Once again the shows are fully interactive; the audience see a show with their children as the main actors evolve from nothing. The shows are entertaining for the audience and the pupils.

Evening shows are also good publicity for the college. After an evening show is booked, colleges are welcome to invite the press, local radio, local television or prospective pupils and their parents. Evening shows are a wonderful opportunity to show everyone how committed your college is to teaching English.

NB Evening shows are defined as any show with an invited audience.

Teachers Notes
To help prepare the students, teachers notes are available at no extra cost for the following workshops and shows. Little Victorians, 1st World War Poetry, Shakespeare In Love, Little Victorians Evening Show and Shakespeare by Night.
